Father and 3 Children Between 5 and 12 Years Old Die in Utah House Fire: ‘Devastating Loss’

A father and his three children have died in a Utah house fire.

On Thursday, Oct. 1, at around 1:46 a.m. local time, officials from the Riverdale Police Department and Riverdale Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 4611 South 1150 West, the city said in a press release.

Emergency services said they found the residence “fully engulfed in flames” with eight people, including two adults and six children, inside the property.

One child was pronounced dead at the scene while one adult and two other children were taken to the hospital, where they later succumbed to their injuries, per the release.

Additionally, two other children are receiving treatment in the hospital, while fire crews continue to investigate the cause of the fire.
